“PEOPLE FILTER THE INFORMATION THAT AGREES WITH WHAT THEY ALREADY KNOW, WHICH MAKES THEIR KNOWLEDGE TOP-HEAVY AND STATIC.

HOW WE ASSESS

We use an internationally recognised assessment tool: the iOpener People and Performance Questionnaire (iPPQ). The iPPQ measures people’s “happiness at work”, where happiness is defined as “a mindset that enables people to maximise performance and achieve their potential”. The Oxford, UK-based iOpener Institute is the first research organization worldwide that has been able to demonstrate the link between happiness at work, and employee performance. This measure of “happiness at work” goes way beyond measures of employee engagement and is based on sound empirical research: there are already 16,000 people in their database across 80 countries.
MANAGING BY COACHING

Our coaching interventions and workshop and training programs focus and build on the principle and practice of Managing by Coaching. The application of this principle replaces the old command-and-control style of leadership and shifts the way people relate to themselves and each other. It shifts the way people communicate with each other, which is the basis of all people interaction. Integration of this principle and practice causes a sustained transformation in effective communication and happiness – and this produces the possibility of exponential results!
THE SCIENCE OF HAPPINESS AT WORK™
.
AS ACCREDITED PRACTITIONERS OF THE SCIENCE OF HAPPINESS AT WORK, WE UNDERSTAND HOW PEOPLE’S PERFORMANCE AT WORK IS AFFECTED BY THEIR LEVEL OF SUBJECTIVE WELL-BEING IN THE WORKPLACE.
ASSESSING HAPPINESS AT WORK

We help individuals, teams and organizations improve both their happiness at work and, through that, their performance at work. How do we assess happiness at work?

We are licensed to administer a variety of online diagnostic tools which give us quick, deep insights into various “issues” that people are dealing with at work.
Diagnostic tools and processes include:

  • iPPQ (iOpener People andPerformance Questionnaire) for:
  • individuals
  • teams
  • organizations
  • 360° reports

  • Facilitated workshops addressing precisely the issues highlighted
  • Demonstrate ROI using the iPPQ as a change tracker
  • Underpinned by our “Managing by Coaching” principles and practice
HAPPINESS AT WORK is a mindset that enables people to maximise their performance and achieve their potential.
This mindset has five components:

• Contribution
• Conviction
• Commitment
• Confidence
• Culture.

It is underpinned by three universal attributes:

• Pride
• Trust
• Recognition

“EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT IS ONLY PART OF THE PICTURE,
NOT THE WHOLE PICTURE.”

WHY DOES HAPPINESS AT WORK MATTER?

The iOpener Institute’s six years of research into the subject worldwide (in 80+ countries) has shown that the happiest people at work, compared to the least happy:

  • take less sick leave (<1.5 compared with 6, or even 11-20)
  • intend to stay in their role longer (>2 yrs compared with a few months)
  • are more ‘on-task’ (as much as a day and a quarter per week – adds up to 80 days a year!)
THE HAPPINESS PERFORMANCE MODEL

The Happiness-Performance Model shows that there are five drivers of happiness at work, one of which is Commitment – the extent to which someone is engaged with their work.

We have many examples of people who are highly engaged at work, but not otherwise happy at work (in terms of the other drivers). The employer risks losing these employees if the other drivers are not addressed.
